Elevator Control Systems

Constant Pressure                                                                                                                                   This is the hold down pushbutton type of system and is the most simple, lowest cost control system available.  With this system an up and down pushbutton is provided at each floor and inside the car.  When a person is inside the car either the up button or down button is pushed, depending on which direction of travel is desired.  The button is held in manually until the desired location is reached.  When a person is at a landing either the up button or down button is pushed and held in until the car arrives at that landing.

Single Button Automatic                                                                                                                           With this system the pushbutton does not have to be held down.  When a person is in the car the button corresponding to the floor desired is pushed and the cage automatically goes to that floor.  When the person is at any floor, the button at that floor is pushed and the cage automatically comes to that floor and stops.  At each floor pushbutton station there is also included a lighted button that comes on and stays lit while the cage is moving.  This light comes on at every floor to show that the unit is in use.

Standard Elevator Control Panel Features                                                                                   Reverse Phase Relay:  This prevents the unit from having the motor run in the wrong direction in case any two phases of the three phase power going to the controller becomes reversed.  Phases can sometimes be reversed during maintenance or remodeling in the buildings electrical system.  The reverse phase relay prevents the motor from running until power is properly restored.  The reverse phase relay also detects phase loss and low voltage.

Variable Frequency Drive:  (VFD) is a system for controlling the rotational speed of an alternating current electric motor by controlling the frequency of the electrical power supplied to the motor.

Delayed Re-start:  Provides an automatic time delay after the cage stops to allow time to open either the cage gate or the landing door before any of the pushbuttons to other floors will operate.  The delay is factory set for approximately 5 seconds, but can easily be adjusted to a different time delay after installation is completed, if desired.  This feature is standard on all of our special purpose personnel elevators.

Off the Shelf Components:  All relays, motor contractors, timers, breakers, and every electrical item are "off the shelf" standard catalog items.  There are no mysterious black boxes.  All components are neatly wired and easily related to the control system wiring drawing.  All electrical control systems are designed to eliminate the need for a highly specialized service technician.
